Santa Fe Railway freight trains at Frost, CA

Steve paid a visit to Frost on July 11, 1972. His first train was an eastbound.

 

Next up was the joint operation Utah coal train bound for Kaiser Steel in Fontana. On the point were UP SD45s and on the rear pushing were Santa Fe SD45s. The train had a Santa Fe crew.

 

Later in the day he caught a meet. Notice a remnant of the old siding was still in place on the westbound main. Above the Clipper trailers in the eastbound train, you can see roads are going in for a new subdivision. All photos by Steve Carr
