Train 168 (Extra 8721 West) rolls into Hesperia on May 20, 1973. Hesperia looks nothing like this today.

On February 4, 1974 UP Extra 71 East rolls down the hill into Hesperia with a mixture of GE and EMD locomotives. I just barely had time enough to stop the car, jump out, and grab the picture
