Train 199 is starting to pick up speed after coming out of the narrow confines of the canyon between Caliente and Ilmon. It has engines 3814, 7498, and 7486. The date is June 8, 1987. Ilmon siding started just around this first curve. It was extended up to Caliente in 1983 giving another stretch of double track. In the going away shot below, the train is crossing Caliente Creek.
