On the evening of July 8th, BLE SD38-2 878, SD38AC 867, and SD40T-3 lead loaded ore train CN U702 as it speeds south past the vast Hartstown Swamp in Hartstown, Pennsylvania. The train is made up entirely of aggregate style hoppers that were recently acquired to replace the aging fleet of 3 and 4 bay 100 ton hoppers for hauling taconite ore pellets on the line. Despite being owned by Canadian National since 2004, it's still possible to get lucky and catch solid sets of Bessemer & Lake Erie power hauling iron ore over home rails in 2020.
