At the east end of West Colton Yard is the Pepper Avenue bridge. This was a favorite place for railfans as there was generally quite a bit of action as trains came into and out of the yard plus plenty of power moves. Engines 6808, 8361, 9253, 8387, 7669, 6731 move east and will then back into one of the departure tracks.
Engines 7794, 7664, 7785, and an SD45 back into a departure track to connect with their train and move passed engines 9253, 8387, 7669, 6731. Extra 9253 West will go up Cajon Pass.
Engines 7663, 7250, 7645, 7615, and 7266 are about to head east with train OANOT to the Sunset Route. The crew van waits at the yard shack for another assignment. All these pictures were taken on June 1, 1987.
