The 4781 is returning! NCRR 4781 violently exploded in a Concorde railyard back in December, destroying the tracks and injuring 8. The locomotive was a popular excursion engine before this event. 15 minutes after the explosion, the BNR took the withered engine and stored it in the Brickskau shops. The railroad started a complete rebuild of the engine, and on April 17,1956,the locomotive finally steamed back into life. 4781 proved functional in a test run the following day. The locomotive is scheduled to have many excursions in the future.
(BELOW) 4781 in the Brickskau yard on the 17th.
